About Us
Our Founder
S2 Pole is founded by David Duong, a french engineer with more than three decades of experience in construction and in the energy sector in France and in China, specializing in the nuclear power industry.

David is passionate about science and industrial progress. During his retirement, he challenged himself by finding ways to make renewable energies more competitive than fossil fuels and allow for a more sustainable future.

Through personal research and reflection, an innovation was born: a light but strong constuction structure (tubes) that allows for very long poles to be erected. This innovation has been patented and in 2024 S2 Pole was founded.

S2 Pole stands for sky and solar. Solar panels can be integrated in the pole structure reaching high altitudes and optimize exposure to sunlight.

Our Mission
Revolutionize the renewable energy landscape
Over the past decades, huge progress has been made in reducing the cost of solar panels in silicium. There has been remarkable growth in solar power in recent years. Every year, approximately 200GW of solar power is installed worldwide representing about one percent of global electricity generation capacity. Despite solar panels becoming highly affordable, there are several factors preventing solar panels to be deployed even more widely or on a large scale:
Solar cells are highly sensitive to oxygen and humidity in the air. Glass and metal protection on solar panels mean they are heavy and need to be installed on flat surfaces (on the ground or roofs).
Energy is loss as heat during transmisson of electricity over large distances. There is necessity for energy to be produced near place of consumption.
Solar panels and farms require a large usage of land. Currently, most inexpensive land and available space near cities have already been exhausted.
The transition from thermal vehicules to electric vehicules only make sense if the electricity used to charge these vehicules come from non fossil sources. This is the only solution for a sustainable future. Why not charge electric vehicules directly where solar panels are installed? This is our vision for the future thanks to solar poles.
Integration of solar panels on the vertical surface of our pole structure allow for much better usage of land.
Our strong pole structure has pratically no vertical limit allowing more unshaded surface for solar panels higher in altitude.

Our first and foremost goal is to be able to install solar poles along the side of roads and highways to create EV charging stations. This project presents numerous advantages:
There is limited additional usage of land as panels are integrated in the pole structure. Land adjacent to roads and highways is readily available.
There is no need for sophisticated and costly installations to convert electricity from alternating current to direct current at the charging stations as solar poles produce direct current that can be used to charge vehicules.
There is no loss of energy as electricity is consumed at site of production.

We believe that this will revolutionize the use of electric vehicules provide a more sustainable future for generations to come.
